Ingredients: Makes ~ 4 bowls
Burger pattie:
1lb Ground sirloin (grass fed if possible)
2 tbsp soy sauce (gluten free, low sodium or tamari)
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp ground ginger
salt + pepper
Ponzu aioli:
1/2 C Mayo
2 tbsp Ponzu sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
Bowl:
Cooked Brown rice (1/2 C per bowl)
Pickled red cabbage 2 tbsp per bowl I used @clevelandkitchen kraut
Shishito peppers, 4 per bowl
Steamed Edamame, 1/2 C per bowl
Optional toppings: Green onion, cilantro, hot honey, thai chili sauce
Directions:
1. Mix the burger pattie ingredients. Separate into 4 regular sized burgers or 8 mini slider size. Grille for best taste and to your desired temperature. If you don’t have a grill you can pan fry or bake them at 350F for 15-20 minutes until desired temperature (ie medium, medium-rare)
2. While the burgers are cooking grille or pan fry your shishito peppers. These take about 10 minutes to char and soften.
3. Mix your ponzu sauce
4. Layer your bowl with rice on the bottom to absorb the juices and serve! If you’re making this as a meal prep store the sauce on the side.
