•dairy free and gluten free options•

1. One and done: Only eat your leftovers one time after the big meal. I like to make this leftover quesadilla because it uses all the food so there’s no waste, everyone can enjoy it, kids like the quesadilla idea and it can be altered for food allergies or intolerances.
2. Take a walk: Walking after your meal will help your digestion
3. Drinking water and avoiding alcohol: Alcohol contributes to dehydration and sugar intake which makes the stomach discomfort even worse. Stick to water or a sugar free tea like fresh brewed decaffeinated black tea.
4. Eat your veggies first: Fill up on the roasted veggies before eating higher calorie foods like stuffing
5. Start from the beginning: Using low sodium broth in your recipes, decreasing the butter used, low fat milks etc will all help reduce the bloating.
6. Fiber up: The day after thanksgiving you can start the day with a high fiber smoothie to help both hydrate and motivate digestion.
Directions for quesadilla: (preheat oven to 350F)
1. Using a large sheet pan, line 10 burrito size tortillas across the pan so there are no gaps (gluten free will work). You want to line them up in a way where you can fold them over and they will cover each other.
2. Layer your leftovers I used mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey and cranberry sauce. If you can eat dairy you can add cheese or vegan cheese or no cheese at all as long as you have something like mashed potatoes to hold it all together.
3. After folding the tortillas over the center spray the top with cooking spray I used avocado oil spray. Then lay another sheet pan on top. Bake for 20 minutes
4. You can also serve turkey gravy on the side for dipping or cranberry sauce if you didn’t use it in your quesadilla!
*You can only re-heat turkey one time
