9SlicesOf cheese, I use smoked gouda, for dairy fee Violife makes a smoke gouda as well and it holds up great in the oven and melts perfectly
16SlicesSalami, I used Applegate brand because it's one of the cleaner versions on the market. You can also use spicy salami if your guests like a little spice
2tbspOlive oil or egg wash
1-2tbspPoppy seeds or everything seasoning if no one has a sesame allergy at your event
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400F. Find a baking sheet that fits the size of your puff pastry. Take the puff pastry out of the refrigerator and packaging and bring it up to room temp (about 5-10 minutes)
Lay on sheet of puff pastry on the baking sheet. Layer the cheese and salami on top staggering so the entire pastry is covered.
Lay the second puff pastry sheet on top. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife clean up the edges so they're straight
Using the same pizza cutter or knife cut the layers vertically and horizontally making sure you cut through all the layers to create small squares
Brush olive oil or egg wash the top of the puff pastry
Sprinkle poppy seeds or everything seasoning on top
Bake for about 24 minutes or until the pastry if golden brown
Allow the bites to cool about 5-10 minutes before pulling them apart
