Puff Pastry Holiday Bow Appetizer

Equipment

  • 1 Baking pan

Ingredients

  • 2 Sheets Puff pastry, for gluten free use Sweet Loren's brand
  • 1 Cream cheese, at room temperature. You can substitute dairy free cream cheese as well
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill. minced
  • 1 tbsp Chives, sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or egg wash
  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds or everything seasoning if no sesame allergy

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 400F. Remove your puff pastry from the packaging so it comes up to room temperature
  • Lay one sheet out and gently rol with a rolling pin until smooth
  • In a small bowl mix the cream cheese and herbs
  • Spread the mixture evenly over the puff pastry
  • Layer the second piece of puff pastry on top
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife cut off the uneven edges
  • Cut the dough into 4 even slices horizontally
  • Cut each of the horizontal pieces in half. Using your finger pinch the center to make a folded bow shape
  • Brush the dough with either olive oil or an egg wash so they brown. Sprinkle poppy seeds or everything seasoning on top
  • Bake for about 24 minutes or more until the dough is puffed and golden brown
